Reclaiming Hope, Removing Carbon
University of Bristol Botanic Garden, Bristol, 2026
11-14 JUNE 2026
“Reclaiming Hope, Removing Carbon” was an art and science exhibition and festival that explored the power and potential of Greenhouse Gas Removal at the University of Bristol Botanic Garden. It was part of the UK’s larger Festival of Nature, which takes place annually in June.
A programme of workshops, talks, and family activities accompanied the exhibition including hands-on climate-science demonstrations and and artist-led workshops.
The exhibition featured seven installations woven through the Botanic Garden commissioned by CO2RE, by Studio Blue Green, Billie Ireland, James R Price, Yambe Tam, Selina Wagner, Miranda Whall, and Ben Weaver-Hincks spanning sculpture, film, animation, podcasts, and performance pieces, each exploring new ways of thinking about carbon, nature and climate solutions.
The Rite of Ten Winds installation by Yambe Tam featured a 53-minute video version of the interactive VR experience, flanked by digitally printed voile hangings of wireframes of 3D models in the virtual world.
